Features of SSD

SSD called solid-state drive, It became more attractive as an enterprise for data storage devices like desktop, laptops, servers, PCs, etc. While the hard disk is smarter, faster, reliable today than ever before, SSD has several features that make them viable alternatives.

Basic features of solid-state drive (SSD) are given below:

Mobility: SSDs are smaller as well as lighter than previous uses of drives. It is possible to create today's ultra-thin laptop and other mobile dives.

Data transfer rate: The data transfer rate for SSD is between 100-500 Mb's/ sec.

Random access time: Since the data is accessed directly from the flash memory it is almost lag-free.

Noice: SSDs are silent, In SSD drive having no moving part s, it has no noise.

Fragmentation: The fragmentation is irrelevant for SSDs.

Power consumption: SSD drives consume 30 to 60%. It is less energy compared with HDD drive, saving an odd 6 to 10 watts power.

Energy efficiency: No moving part and fast data read and write speed mean that SSD draws less power both while working and while idle.

Data access time: SSD is lightning fast and generally the SSD 80-100 times faster than HDD drive.

Easier to carry: SSD has lightweight components or moving parts, they are more mobile-friendly and are much better suited for constant traveling.

Increased variety in size: Solid-state drive can be purchased in a variety of sizes like 2.5", 1.8", and 1.0". With such characteristics, the solid-state drive can easily and quickly replace the hard disk drive.
