What is SODIMM

What is SODIMM?

SODIMM is an Acronym for Small Outline Dual line memory module. SODIMM are smaller than DIMM modules. SODIMM are smaller in physical size and have a different pin configurationSODIMM must be 30 mm high and 3.8 mm thick. The width of SDR, DDR2, DDR3, and DDR SODIMMs was 67.6 mm. DDR4 and DDR5 SODIMMs were 2mm wider at 69.6 mm.  SODIMM is smaller and more compact compared to regular DIMM(Dual inline memory module) used in desktop computers. They are typically used for RAM(Random access memory) modules, which play a crucial role in storing and accessing data that the computer need to run programs and perform tasks.
