What does UJT mean?
UJT is a three-terminal semiconductor switching device with only one junction that acts exclusively as an electronically controlled switch for use as a relaxation oscillator in the phase control applications.
UJT is consist of n-type silicon base to which p-type emitter is embedded.
The n-type base is lightly doped and the p-type is heavily doped.
The base is divided into two parts:
1. base-one B1
2. base-two B2
In R and RC triggering circuits cannot be used for automatic or feedback control systems so that UJT comes in the picture these difficulties can be overcome by the use of UJT triggering circuits.
